Chicken manure is ideal for use on roses, they are heavy feeders and the chicken manure will supply the plants with nitrogen and assist in building the organic component of the soil, increase the soil microbiology and improve soil structure. Be careful though as the manure needs to be aged before applying it, as fresh manure is high in ammonium and will cause burning of tender young roots.
