I read your web-page prior to selecting the A21p and felt that installing a sanitized version of RedHat 6.2 from VALinux was my best bet, because of the issues with RH-7.0. The very day the laptop arrived, found out that ReadHat has released v7.1 so I downloaded it directly from their ftp site. Everything works from files supplied on the CDs (there are now two CDs for their standard laptop install). This includes the pcmcia and X-windows at 1600x1200. They supply pcmcia-cs-3.1.24, a v3.1.25 is available, but I didn't install it. I did have to bring-up eth0 by manually. Luckily I found the network GUI tool to do it, which saved me from hand editting the half-dozen files. Thanks for your web-page, it enabled me to make a good choice of laptop and OS without making a huge time-consuming search of my own. You may wish to add a note about a21p and RH-7.1. Please reply if you wish any details of my experience. Thank you, Ray PS: I feel so guilty about getting so much for free, that I think I'll order the distribution. This is my first experience with Gnome in about 2 years. From the looks of it now, several good folks have been very busy, and to good effect.
