I actually didn't find your page until after the fact but I figured most out from trial and error (emphasis on the error part). Anyway I noticed that you didm't have anything for USB. I am currently using one of Microsoft's Optical mice. During install it detected a generic 3 button usb mouse. After install the mouse would light up but was not being used by the system, but the trackpoint was working. This was the case for console and X. I tried to re-run the mouse setup and it kept complaining about an error on line 5 of the mouse file. This line set the device to /dev/mouse I could not resolve why it was having a problem with this. I deleted the file, re-ran that mouse setup and it again detected the USB mouse fine, I told it to update my X stuff and then all was working great with the USB Mouse. I am currently using RedHat 7.1 and I chose the "Laptop" installation method. It installs and configures most of the laptop related things automatically. Hell it wasn't even too difficult (okay maybe 3 hours) to get my US Robotics Wireless Lan PCMCIA card to work. Hope this info is useful. =) -- Matthew
